Student Testimonials
“I’ve taken multiple writing workshops with Christina, and I’m always so impressed with the level of detail that goes into each one. Her mix of historical information, original texts, and modern retellings give a holistic approach to the stories we work with, and I always leave class with a better understanding of the topic. I also find her writing prompts extremely helpful, and her feedback is always thoughtful and constructive. I’ve written multiple pieces either in her workshops or in their immediate aftermath that have gone on to publication, and I believe that I leave her courses a better writer.” – Shaun
“Christina did an excellent job with Writing Feminist Fairy Tales. She curated an interesting variety of original tales along with modern retellings. The course structure of writing exercises and discussions was great for facilitating conversation as well as for generating ideas in our own writing. Christina created a friendly and supportive environment for everyone to feel comfortable with participating and workshopping their writing. I look forward to taking more classes with Christina.” – Caitlin
“Christina’s classes and workshops are well researched and expertly curated for the topic at hand. She spends time acquainting you with the subject matter before getting into how it can apply to writing. She provides a framework to examine your writing during in-class exercises but leaves you with plenty of things to explore well after the course is complete! I highly recommend taking any one of Christina’s writing classes as they are always well-presented, engaging, and just fun to take!” – Brenna
“Christina’s Re-Imagining Fairy Tales Weekend Intensive was my first writing class or workshop in roughly four years, and I’d only written two or three stories in that time. I had a lot of self-doubt that I’d be able to keep up with the group or produce anything I was proud of. Christina kicked things off with phenomenal readings and prompts that were both unique and approachable, which was perfect for jumping in and writing something. I ended up with nearly three finished drafts in a single weekend! I’d highly recommend one of her classes to any writer who’s looking for a resoundingly supportive feedback culture and oodles of creative momentum.” – Joel
“The Fool’s Journey was a special opportunity to simultaneously deepen my knowledge of tarot and find a way back into my writing practice. Not only did we learn the meaning of each card of the Major Arcana, but we also learned the relationship between the cards, the progression of each card, and an array of artistic interpretations from different tarot decks. The cards served as useful writing prompts, and Christiana created a safe environment for us to all share our work. By the end of the class, I felt like I had a new creative community in Philly. 10/10 would recommend!” – Tracy
